The National Alliance for Filipino Concerns (NAFCON) Southern California, along with the Filipino Migrant Center and South Coast Interfaith Council, held a Candlelight Vigil at Grace United Methodist Church in Long Beach, CA on November 15, 2013 to honor and remember the victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda, which occurred in the Philippines on November 8, 2013. The program included prayers and testimonies from community members, as well as different cultural performances throughout the night.
Over $1,500 in donations were collected for NAFCON’s Bayanihan Disaster Relief Campaign that is partnering with NGO’s in the Philippines to assist the victims and survivors of Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda.
