Work & Wellness Among Filipino Americans in the Era of COVID-19
From October 2021 through May 2022, the Filipino Migrant Center and UCLA partnered to conduct research to understand and document the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on work, health, and family life for Filipino/Filipinx and Filipino/Filipinx Americans.
This project will support our ongoing efforts to improve the livelihood of Filipino workers and their families in California. There were two ways for people to participate: 1.) Surveys, 2.) Focus Groups.

FOCUS GROUPS (Small Group Discussion)
Focus group interviews (with 5-7 participants) were held online via zoom or in-person with essential workers.
Focus group eligibility included:
Identify as Filipino/Filipinx American
Are at least 18 years old
Speak Tagalog or English
Live in California
And currently employed in the following essential industries:
Healthcare
Retail
Food services
Manufacturing/Warehouse
Cleaning/janitorial services
Caregiving
SURVEYS
For those employed in any industry, they were eligible to take our survey (on their own or with the assistance of an FMC staff member or volunteer) .
Survey eligibility included:
Identify as Filipino/Filipinx American
Are at least 18 years old
Speak basic English
Live in California
And are currently employed, or you were employed prior to March 2020 (start of pandemic)
